Book parade. Ive never been so excited about anything so much, I woke up at 4.30am and couldnt get back to sleep. Im not sure weather it was the ideal of me being MAX for a day that was so eagerly anticipated or just the running low on sleep and running high on early starts that got me up and moving.
Set the classroom up with all the decorations, you could feel it, the kids were so excited.
Describe:
The fact that they enforce school uniform policy on a day like today is beyond me, because getting 25 kindergarten children dressed into their costumes is a mission, with all the loose parts, mized up parts, stick on parts, paint on parts. Logistical nightmare.
I read the kids 'Where the Wild things are..' Talked to them all about it being my most absolute favourite book of all time since I was a kid. I was so enthused that halfway through reading the book I noticed that I was standing up and acting out all the actions.. just getting a little dramatic.
Analyse:
There were so many creative Ideas from kindergarten, and so many elaborate costumes I was so impressed. It was nice connecting with the parents today, so friendly and encouraging. It was pure joy just to stand there and watch all the creative characters parade on down, from harry potter to wheres wally to the cookie monstor to pippy longstockings to ben ten and angelina ballerina...
Plan:
Id love to have a little more preperation leading up to bookweek to really read more books, delve into a wide range of literature and encourage students to read and read and read..
