you better get about getting organised because you will not survive.
Describe:
I rearranged their desks today, its so much more complicated then I thought, I sat them boy, girl boy girl, however there were so many things to consider, the kids with glasses at the front, kids with short attention span, kids who cannot sit next to certain people. I almost gave myself a headache and found myself changing my mind halfway through.. Anyway trial and error we will see how it goes.
First day of Phase 2 today, the day flew by so quickly.It was independant writing this morning then moving into the literacy block, we revised CVC sounds, completed some activity worksheets on middle e and a sounds.(This week is revision week) I had some hads on stations for fast finishers, making their words out of playdoh, letter tiles, newspaper cut outs, which motivated the kids.
Analyse:
Today was the first day I had taken the whole literacy block on my own, So it was learning to adjust to them being a little unsettled and settling them into each activity. It was a huge learning curve, have to get better at non verbal cues, hand claps etc. Using things around the room, like the timer, music, lights, maraca to get their attention.
Plan: use physical activity breaks to keep them on task, don't let the kids know when your getting really agitated, be CALM. sometimes that's tricky.
